In the Preface of Science and Health...

In the Preface of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy we read (p. vii), "The wakeful shepherd beholds the first faint morning beams, ere cometh the full radiance of a risen day."

It was about 1923 when I caught my first gleam of Christian Science through attending a lecture on it. The good seed of Truth was sown and about ten years later I turned to the religion.

I was suffering intensely from ulcers of the stomach. I had followed a strict diet and had had medical treatment from many physicians, but was none the better. Then I began in earnest to study Christian Science, and my healing came very quickly. Soon I took my stand and became a member of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, and of a branch church.

I am truly grateful to God for Christ Jesus and for our beloved Leader, who brought to mankind and made plain the way of health, comfort, and salvation. I am also grateful for class instruction and for our practitioners.—Peter Hugh McCallum, Sebastopol, California.
