Mrs. Eddy says in her poem...

Mrs. Eddy says in her poem "Satisfied" (Poems, p. 79), "Our God is good." Positive proof of God's goodness has been evidenced in my life, especially during the past seven years. An accumulation of business and personal problems weighed heavily on my mind, convincing me the situation was crucial. Burdened and discouraged by numerous disturbing influences, I abandoned all hope of solving them humanly. Turning thought completely to God, whom I knew to be good, seemed the only course open.

Radical reliance on God—absolute trust in Him—brought peace of mind. Daily study of the Lesson-Sermon, outlined in the Quarterly, and a willingness to listen for God's voice effected a complete change of attitude and business activity. They led me into "a path which no fowl knoweth, and which the vulture's eye hath not seen" (Jon 28:7). God's Word proved to be "a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path" (Ps. 119:105).

My mental state gradually changed from despair to hope as a result of much daily prayer. A complete transformation took place in my personal life. Branch church activities became more meaningful. Mortal mind's picture of discouragement gave place to a joyous outlook. Obedience to the leadings of God, Mind, developed in me an awareness of His ever-presence.
