In the tenth chapter of Luke's Gospel is recorded the parable of the good Samaritan. A certain man journeying from Jerusalem to Jericho was attacked by thieves, who robbed him, then wounded him, leaving him half dead. First a priest and then a Levite came by and noticed him, but each passed by on the other side.
