AWAKENED
Awakened
from the dream of pain
By Love's sweet healing light,
I look back now with gratitude
On what seemed an endless night.
Without each pain should I have learned
Of Mind's unfettered power?
Should I have learned the Truth divine
Without each trying hour?
Each shaft of light that pierced the gloom
Showed me a sturdy stepping-stone
To the threshold of the kingdom
Christ has promised to his own.
Now in the joyous Spirit's warmth
I humbly bow and pray
To help others leave the mortal night
For Truth's immortal day.
