The teachings of Christian Science...
The teachings of Christian Science have given me inspiration, healing, and the way of Life, for which I am everlastingly grateful.
I was first introduced to this inspired religion in my early teens when, through the application of its truths, I was healed of a punctured eardrum. Since that time, I have had many indisputable proofs of God's ever-presence and His unfailing care for His children.
In my senior year in college, I went through a period of mental turmoil and indecision which culminated in pneumonia and pleurisy. I was cared for in the college infirmary without being given medicine, and a Christian Science practitioner was called. Although I was too ill to be conscious of her presence, she worked for me silently; but gradually I became aware of the words of the twenty-third Psalm, which she was then repeating aloud. In a day or two I became alert enough to talk to her, and she told me to live with that psalm, to rest in its assurances of protection and guidance, and to rejoice in God's overflowing abundance and His ever-present care.
