My introduction to Christian Science...
My introduction to Christian Science took place while I was confined to a sanatorium. My physician had recommended that I go there for treatment of heart trouble, nervous prostration, alcoholism, and a generally run-down condition which was evident by my loss of much weight.
After spending several weeks at the sanatorium under the doctors' treatment, I was no better; in fact, I was worse than when I entered. I had loving care from the doctors and nurses, but I despaired of leaving the hospital alive. As I found out later, mortal mind needed correcting, not matter.
I was visited one day by a Christian Science practitioner, a friend of the family. She did not mention Christian Science to me, but she did tell me of encouraging passages in the Bible. Two days later I called the practitioner and asked for help in Christian Science.
