In offering this testimony I trust that it will encourage others to stand fast in the truth taught in Christian Science. Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of this religion, learned the healing power of Truth and Love from studying the spiritual methods recorded in the Bible and practiced by Christ Jesus. In Science and Health, Mrs. Eddy writes: "Truth is always the victor" (p. 380), and, "Love is the liberator" (p. 225). Through some dark days in my experience these truths were proved to me and to those around me.

I became severely ill with a form of poisoning caused by working for long periods in the fumes from an anthracite cooker, the chimney of which was faulty. Kind Christian Science friends at a distance opened their home to me. Accompanied by a practitioner, whose presence and prayerful support were invaluable, I was taken there and truly enfolded in love.

Shortly afterwards a local practitioner, able to pay frequent visits and answer numerous telephone calls, was engaged instead, and she helped me greatly, especially when relatives not interested in Christian Science came from afar hoping to persuade me to have medical aid. Although very ill, I was able to withstand their efforts and to declare firmly and convincingly that I had all I wished for in Christian Science treatment.
