One day I attended a Christian Science...
One day I attended a Christian Science lecture in the course of which the lecturer spoke of Christ Jesus and of Peter's disloyalty to the Christ in such words that tears rolled down my cheeks as I listened, and I thought of the many times I too had been disloyal to the Christ. I bowed my head and promised God that I would endeavor never to be disloyal again.
Shortly after this I was given an opportunity to keep my promise to God and to prove my loyalty to the Christ. My younger daughter returned from school suffering from a very sore throat. She said that it was the worst one she had ever had, and she did seem to be very ill. I was not fearful, because I had been studying Christian Science all afternoon, and I was well fortified spiritually to challenge the error.
As I sat by her bedside, I asked her two questions: "Are we going to dishonor God by believing He made a sore throat? Are we going to be disloyal to this Christ Science which we have proved so many times?"
