Mrs. Eddy found words to convey...
Mrs. Eddy found words to convey to humanity the grand revelation of Christian Science, and I should surely find words to express my gratitude for living in this age and receiving the benefit of her great love for mankind.
During the economic depression of the early nineteen-thirties everything seemed to be going backward for me. I had spent almost all I had on medicines and treatments for a severe case of eczema, which had not been relieved, when a woman rented our cottage next door that had been vacant for sixteen months. She was a Christian Science practitioner.
She had compassion on me and asked if I had thought of trying Christian Science for the eczema. I asked what it could do for such a condition. Later she asked if I would like to have her give me a treatment, and I was so despondent that I wept and said, "I don't care what you do for me."
