Farmington, Missouri (Society).

Dedication Services will be held at the Christian Science Society Hall on Highway 67 By-Pass on Sunday, June 24, 1962. The services will be held at 11:00 A. M. and 2:00 P. M. All interested persons are invited to attend.

Christian Science Society, Farmington, was begun 50 years ago. In 1912, a few students of Christian Science felt the need of meeting together and held services in a room in one of the business buildings in Farmington.

These meetings continued until July 18, 1915, when 18 persons in and about Farmington became interested in forming a Christian Science Society, which, in August, 1918, was officially recognized by The Mother Church. ... Over a period of years services were held in a variety of places.

In 1950, the members thought the time had come to plan for their own place of worship and lots were purchased on Highway 67. In October, 1959, steps were taken to investigate the cost of a church edifice. Final plans and contract were approved and construction began in July, 1960.

The first Sunday Service in the new edifice was held December 18, I960, with one charter member present.—The Farmington Press (June 21, 1962).
