Many years ago I was a semi-invalid...

Many years ago I was a semi-invalid, suffering from what the doctors told me was a displaced internal organ. All the physicians were very kind, and I know that they did all they could for me. One of them was my brother, who had just graduated from medical college. At one time an operation was performed. I had placed great hope in this; so when I was no better after a whole year of recuperation from the operation, I was discouraged. I thought I should never be well.

Then, through a friend, I was led to Christian Science. I visited a practitioner, who lent me a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. How I loved what I read in this book! I knew it was just what I wanted, and I read for hours at a time. The more I read, the more I loved it. Before very long I was able to attend to household duties. Soon I began to enjoy outdoor activities, driving the car, walking, playing tennis, and also skating. What a joy it was to feel helpful to my family and to be free!

My gratitude for this healing knew no bounds. My husband and I began to attend the services and the testimony meetings in a Church of Christ, Scientist, and we soon became active church members. It was a privilege to be of service to the Christian Science movement. The children were enrolled in the Sunday School, and my husband and I also became members of The Mother Church.
