A sense of deep gratitude for...
A sense of deep gratitude for the many blessings which have come into my life through the study and application of Christian Science prompts me to write this testimony.
When I was seventeen years old, my mother learned of Christian Science through reading a copy of The Christian Science Journal. She was at once interested in what she read, and she interested several other women in it. From time to time they would discuss this newly found religion. Mother purchased a copy of the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and became an earnest student of Science. Through her understanding of man's perfection as the image and likeness of God, I was healed of headaches, toothaches, and colds.
I myself did not become seriously interested in Science until many years later when I was in great need of healing. I was a constant user of tobacco, including cigars, and had been a social drinker for many years. When I realized that these habits were gaining control of me, especially the drinking, I knew I must do something about them. So I turned wholeheartedly to Christian Science, and with the help of a practitioner I had a complete healing of all the habits.
