A teacher in a Christian Science Sunday School was explaining that the physical senses are continually presenting absolutely untrue appearances, such as a flat earth and the rising and setting of the sun. "Trying to brainwash us," was the response from one member of the class. Since then the teacher has realized that this is a very appropriate way of defining the seeming activity of the carnal mind, which, the Bible says, "is enmity against God" (Rom. 8:7).
