My gratitude for Christian Science...

My gratitude for Christian Science is almost beyond words to relate. Although I attended a Protestant Sunday School faithfully during my childhood, the teaching I received went in one ear and out the other. My mother, however, had become interested in Christian Science, and when we moved to a large city, she recommended that we attend the Christian Science church. I was enrolled in the Sunday School, and my attention and interest were at once engaged. I began to study the Christian Science Quarterly Lesson-Sermon regularly and attended the Sunday School until the age of twenty, when I joined a branch church.

The first healing I had through my own work occurred shortly after I began studying Science. I had a wart on one thumb which annoyed me greatly. Anxious to test this new truth I was learning, I prayed in Christian Science, and the wart disappeared. Since that time I have had physical healings of many kinds: colds, fevers, inflammation, pain, a discharge, rheumatic twinges, and defective eyesight.

One healing which meant a great deal to me occurred after I had been afflicted for some months with what appeared to be an intestinal parasite, although the condition was never diagnosed medically. I did not want to alarm my mother and so set about working out the problem alone. Although the healing took some time, I continued firm in my denial of any reality in sense testimony, and the condition disappeared completely. This healing took place over fifteen years ago, and there has never been any return of the difficulty.
