One day I had a severe attack...

One day I had a severe attack of pain while I was at work. As a result my employer ordered me to comply with insurance regulations and see a doctor before I resumed my work or drove my maintenance truck. The very next morning I experienced the pain again. My wife called the doctor in obedience to the regulations and answered his questions; but even while she was telling him the symptoms, we were denying that they could belong to man, God's spiritual, perfect idea. The doctor said he thought I had a coronary thrombosis, and although he could not come to see me right away, he would come as soon as possible.

My wife then called a Christian Science practitioner and asked him for treatment for me and explained to him that because of the regulations I must submit to a doctor's examination. She asked the practitioner to help us to see the unreality of whatever the doctor might say about me. My wife told the practitioner that I was experiencing severe pain. He denied the reality of pain, and it ceased right at that moment.

When the doctor arrived later in the morning he was amazed that I was comfortable, but said that I would have to go to the hospital so that tests could be made. The tests showed evidence of the disease.
