Are We "lively stones"?

"There is a living part for each to play in furthering Christian Science in the world"

"Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ" (I Pet. 2:5). These challenging words of Peter's addressed to his faithful Christian followers are equally applicable to us today and require of us the same preparation and sacrifice. Christian Scientists must lay aside all that is unlike God and with childlike humility turn to Him as the source of all life and good. Only through this process of giving up and being reborn spiritually can we become "lively stones" in "Church," which Mrs. Eddy defines in Science and Health as, "The structure of Truth and Love; whatever rests upon and proceeds from divine Principle" (p. 583).
