I should like to express my deep...

I should like to express my deep gratitude for Christian Science. Eleven years ago, when I was suffering form what the doctors called complete nervous and physical exhaustion, a friend recommended my turning to Christian Science. I had also been suffering from severe constipation, and in addition there was a lump the size of an egg on my body. I mentioned these to the practitioner, whom I had asked to come to see me, on her first visit, expecting that perhaps in time they might be healed too. However, both conditions were healed overnight. It seemed like a miracle at that time and gave me wonderful encouragement and spiritual uplift, showing me that God is indeed a very present help. Through prayerful study each week of the Lesson-Sermon from the Quarterly and with the help of the practitioner, I learned to understand God more clearly; and as my understanding grew, the nervous abated and finally disappeared.

Since that happy day when I first turned to Christian Science I have had healings of colds, a sprained ankle, lumbago, rheumatism, a skin irritation, and false traits of character, such as a hasty temper, impatience, and selfishness. On page 254 of Science and Health, Mrs. Eddy says, "When we wait patiently on God and seek Truth righteously, He directs our path." I have found this passage a wonderful help in the everyday running of a house and the bringing up of a family.

I am deeply grateful for Christian Science and for the patient, kindly help of the practitioner, who is always so ready to guide me spiritually. — (Mrs.) Kathleen M. Franklin, St. Austell, Cornwall, England.
