"We need to guard against the suggestion that the prosperity of a Christian Science Reading Room concerns only a small group of church members—the staff, whose duty it is to carry on the work of the Reading Room," writes a librarian. She continues, "In order that the Reading Room may more richly fulfill its God-appointed mission and that it may in ever-increasing measure draw to it those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, the consistent metaphysical support of every church member is requisite."
With this in mind, occasional meetings in the interest of Reading Room activity are authorized by executive boards of branch churches for the purpose of keeping members informed about their Reading Room as well as to enlist their continual support.
In this regard, a librarian says:
