When on a recent visit in our home my mother told me that I had not been impatient once since she had been there, I was very happy, for it awakened me to the fact that I was expressing more of God in my daily living. This was indeed cause for gratitude.
Then I began to look back and see the progress I had made since I first began to recognize, understand, and express the God-given qualities which are ours to use.
I was healed through Christian Science of mastoiditis when I was nine years old. I was three when this difficulty first appeared, and the doctor in our small town diagnosed it. My mother, never having heard of the condition, took me to a specialist many miles away. He examined me, confirmed the diagnosis, and said that I must have an immediate operation, that a delay of even twenty-four hours might lead to serious complications.
