RADIO PROGRAM No. 402 - Overcoming Resentment

SPEAKER: Probably there's no quicker road to unhappiness than by way of resentment. And yet often it's regarded as a normal reaction to a feeling we're losing out because someone or something is unjust. And so today it's good to be able to talk with a man who learned how to overcome resentment and the misery that trails in its wake. I'd like you to meet Arthur Hinkson, of Williamsburg, Virginia. You also had a physical healing didn't you, Mr. Hinkson?

MR. HINKSON: Yes, that's right; but what I'm most grateful for is the regeneration of character that came with it.

My wife is a Christian Scientist, and so are our five children. I'd go to church sometimes, but I really wasn't interested. But about six years ago I had a painful physical condition which I later learned was jaundice. The attacks were so severe I couldn't rest comfortably and couldn't eat. I lost a lot of weight, and I wasn't able to go to the office. I asked my wife to get in touch with a Christian Science practitioner to pray for me. My family read hymns to me. They also read from the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I studied these books a great deal too in an effort to gain a better understanding of God.
