Christian Science was brought to my attention many years ago when I was feeling deeply depressed. A fellow worker, noticing my unhappiness, invited me to meet her mother. After a few moments' conversation with the latter and upon her advice, I went to see a Christian Science practitioner, who received me so kindly that it gave me confidence.

I was asked two questions. To one of them, "Do you believe in God?" I replied, "Oh, yes, certainly."

Then I was asked, "Do you believe that God is able to do something for you?"
