WORDS OF CURRENT INTEREST
[The words in this issue are related to the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly designated to be read in Christian Science churches on May 21, 1961.]
We walk by faith, not by sight (II Cor. 5:7)
The Greek word eidos (sight) means not so much "seeing" as what is seen by the eyes, and thus "appcarance" or "form." The Twentieth Century New Testament renders, "We guide our lives by faith, and not by what we see."
To be absent ... to be present (II Cor. 5:8)
