I am grateful for Christian Science...
I am grateful for Christian Science because it has taught me the truth of God and man. It has taught me that to know this truth, and to abide in it, is unceasing joy and effective prayer.
A few years ago when my husband passed on, a clear realization of God's presence and power brought courage and strength in a measure that I had never deemed possible. We had known each other since childhood and had never been separated for any length of time during the thirty-nine years of our married life. However, speaking of a period in which one finds oneself to be solitary, Mrs. Eddy says (Science and Health, p. 266), "When this hour of development comes, even if you cling to a sense of personal joys, spiritual Love will force you to accept what best promotes your growth."
I had studied and pondered this passage many times throughout the years, and when the time came to prove it, I was grateful that I understood it. The healing of grief came quickly.
