Signs of the Times
From "Our Sermonette" in The Everett Daily Herald Everett, Washington
The final test of science is not whether its accomplishments add to our comfort and power, but whether it adds to our dignity as men and our faith in the ultimate good. This is a test science cannot pass alone. Religion must show men the way of a richer, fuller spiritual life, keyed to eternal moral values.
As we pray "Thy kingdom come," may we believe in the ultimate good. We seek wisdom from above. Such is the armor we can secure for this, the atomic age.
