WORDS OF CURRENT INTEREST

[The words in this issue are related to the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly designated to be read in Christian Science churches on April 30, 1961.]

The word 'avon is connected with a Hebrew root meaning literally "to be crooked or bent" and is apparently used to stress the distortion or perversion of character implied by wrongdoing. Our English word "wrong" presents a close parallel, as it originally meant "twisted, crooked."

Though hand join in hand (Prov. 11:21)
