Soon after I began reading Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, I visited a Christian Science practitioner and poured out my fears and complaints, describing my unhappy and troubled state of mind. One dark spot in my thinking was a belief that I had enemies. The practitioner explained quietly and firmly: "We have no enemies. God is all-presence, all-power; God is Love. His love for His creation includes all. There is no other Mind."

I was instantly and permanently healed of the fear of an enemy. I knew when I left the practitioner's office that Christian Science was indeed the truth that Christ Jesus preached and taught.

I began to study each day the Bible Lesson outlined in the Quarterly. As I continued to study, I was filled with a desire to know more of this religion that had done so much for me. Although I was not then financially able to have class instruction, I was sure that it was a right idea and that God would supply my need. I held to the oneness and allness of eternal Mind and of my inseparability from Mind. Many times the words and works of Christ Jesus, our Way-shower, inspired me. In a short time I had a financial increase sufficient to meet all my needs, and I took the necessary steps to receive class instruction.
