Christian Science has made a new life for me. When I began its study over ten years ago, I was very despondent. My life had been for many years one long nightmare of illness, hospitals, surgical operations, and defeat.

Mrs. Eddy says (Science and Health, p. 322), "The sharp experiences of belief in the supposititious life of matter, as well as our disappointments and ceaseless woes, turn us like tired children to the arms of divine Love." Christian Science found me at a time when I was filled with woe at what seemed to be my lowest moment. It came to me through a dear friend, who was at that time, however, a total stranger to me. I have no doubt that, like Ananias, who was sent to Paul, she was sent of God to me that I might receive my sight, the spiritual perception of God and of man as His reflection.

For many months I had been unable to eat the simplest foods without distress and had constantly taken medicine which stupefied my thinking. A physician had told me that I probably had cancer, and I was greatly depressed and discouraged. The woman mentioned above was making a business call, and seeing my mental plight, she recommended Christian Science.
