About two years ago our ten-year-old son manifested severe physical symptoms. Prayerful metaphysical work was immediately taken up to correct the suggestions of error. His condition, however, appeared to grow worse. He was partially paralyzed, suffered severe pain, and had to be carried about.

The help of a Christian Science practitioner was sought and faithfully given. The boy's condition still appeared unchanged, and after a day or so the practitioner pointed out that since it appeared that the condition might be polio, which is considered contagious, we should obey the law by reporting the situation to our local board of health. This we did.

A doctor examined our son. In the meantime my husband and I held firmly to the truth of perfect God and His perfect manifestation, man. We guarded our thoughts constantly to allay the possibility that fear of polio would take over our consciousness. God's omnipresence was evidenced by the fact that even the doctor could find no indication of the disease. Before the doctor arrived, the pain had eased considerably, and our son could move his legs and head to an extent that was impossible earlier.
