WORDS OF CURRENT INTEREST
[The words in this issue are related to the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly designated to be read in Christian Science churches on August 11, 1960.]
"Men ... man" (Prov. 8:4)
The word translated "men" is ishim (men distinguished from women); while "man" is the translation of adam (mankind, or the human race). In Hebrew-idiom, the phrase "sons of man" is equivalent to mankind in general.
"God ... God" (Isa. 44:8)
