At an early age I was enrolled...
At an early age I was enrolled in the Christian Science Sunday School. This experience was a priceless privilege. As the spiritual meaning of the Scriptures was unfolded to me, I learned how to apply the truth in solving the problems of daily living. When a difficulty arose which seemed beyond my understanding, I would ask my Sunday School teacher for help. She always gave it.
One of the first healings I had which clearly showed me the efficacy of Christian Science was that of nosebleed. We were living on the desert at a fairly high altitude. During the summer this would occur as many as six or seven times a day.
One hot day when the condition arose, I repeated "the scientific statement of being" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. p. 468). When I reached the last three lines, "Spirit is God, and man is His image and likeness. Therefore man is not material; he is spiritual," the truth of these words became so clear to me that the bleeding stopped immediately. I was never troubled with that difficulty again.
