Over thirty years ago I had an experience which turned me wholeheartedly to Christian Science. I was seriously ill, suffering from the menopause, anemia, and double pneumonia. I was unconscious for several days. The doctor attending me requested that a specialist be brought in for consultation. They informed my children that nothing more could be done for me and suggested that the rest of my family be notified that my condition was hopeless.

Two of my children who had only recently begun the study of Christian Science decided to call a practitioner. The practitioner began to work for me in Science that afternoon, and all through the night she and my two children held fast to the truth and relied absolutely on God. The next morning I awoke well! The healing was complete. I wish to add that from this time on, I was entirely free from the habits of social drinking and smoking.

At one time I was visiting my daughter, who lived in another city. This was my first visit to her home, and I was not familiar with the house. That evening I started from the front door to go into the yard and admire the sky, which was starlit and beautiful. I missed the four concrete steps leading from the stoop and fell through space, landing in a crouched position.
