One night over fourteen years...

One night over fourteen years ago a loved one invited me to go to a Christian Science lecture with him. The theme of the lecture was prayer, and I immediately realized that this was an answer to that for which I had been searching, and I began to apply the truths expressed. That night I was healed of a painful periodic physical disorder for which I had consulted physicians. Since then, Christian Science has been my only physician.

Through the understanding that God is the only creator and that He governs man and the universe harmoniously at all times, I have experienced three happy, painless childbirths. One of the children was in a posterior position, but his birth was as harmonious as the normal births.

When our second son was two and a half years old, he fell from a second-story window to the ground below. I immediately declared that God was his life and that God's child could not for an instant be separated from good. When my mother and I reached him, he was standing up crying, and she took him into the house. Many wonderful truths from the Bible and from Science and Health flooded my consciousness, and I declared them aloud to the child and to others in the house, including a maid who was very fearful. Within thirty minutes he was happily playing in the house again. There were no aftereffects.
