Early in my study of Christian Science,...
Early in my study of Christian Science, I was instantaneously healed of influenza when I had accepted as a command of God the title of a pamphlet, "Arise and Walk," which I had purchased in a Christian Science Reading Room.
Another healing which pointed the way, inspiring me to deeper consecration, came after a fall on the ice. The injury to the end of my spine necessitated my lying on my stomach to read the Lesson-Sermon from the Quarterly. The subject for that week was "Substance."
Recognizing my true substance as spiritual, the image and likeness of God, banished the belief of injury. I arose, moved in freedom, demonstrating the verity of Paul's statement (Acts 17:28), "For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring." I returned to normal, harmonious activity.
