Christian Science came to me through my wife, who had begun to study it a few years before my interest was aroused. One night she became suddenly ill. Since she relied on Christian Science, she called a practitioner, while I called our family doctor. The doctor was not against Christian Science and did not treat my wife.

Within a very short time my wife was completely healed. The medical opinion with regard to the healing through the work of the practitioner was that it was a miracle. This healing gave me something to think about, and I started to attend the Sunday services and the Wednesday evening testimony meetings with my wife in First Church of Christ, Scientist, Copenhagen. A few years later I became a member of that church and in 1931 a member of The Mother Church in Boston, Massachusetts.

My first healing was that of hemorrhoids, which had caused me severe pain for many years. I turned to a practitioner for help, and she lovingly took up the work. Through her work, it came to me that I had been stubborn and selfish towards my son, who was a partner in my wholesale business, and had been unwilling to give him the rights to which he was entitled as my partner.
