I am deeply grateful that a friend introduced me to Christian Science when I was in great need.
About eleven years ago I was suffering from what was finally diagnosed as tuberculosis. At this time I held a regular commission in the Army Nursing Service. The nursing services were reorganized, however, and we were asked to take new commissions in the Nursing Corps being formed. But because of my physical condition I decided to resign. The Army Council would not consider my resignation until I was fit. After I had spent some months in hospital, it was decided that I should have sanatorium treatment. However, this idea was dropped, and to my amazement I was sent home on three months' sick leave.
