Peace on Earth

"May this Christmas bring to all of us something more of the peace of God, which passes understanding"

To Christians all over the world the crown of the year is Christmas. Its keynote is the song of the angels heard by the shepherds on the hills around Bethlehem: "On earth peace, good will toward men" (Luke 2:14).

Christmas is not merely a season of rejoicing or the celebration of the birth of the Saviour. It is a perpetual reminder that the Christ, Truth, exemplified in the life of Christ Jesus, has come to the world, not to take men out of the world but to reveal God's kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. It has come to save mankind from the ills of the flesh, including all the ways of wickedness.

Christmas brings a glorious message, alive with the certainty of salvation and replete with the comfort of Love. Wherever and whenever the Christ is accepted and understood, there will be peace. The world is yearning for peace, yet many who desire peace seek for it in a wrong direction. Peace means freedom from fear; it means joy and the end of perplexity. Spiritual peace includes the stability of divine Principle, the activity of divine Life, and the conscious presence of divine Love.
