"Christ cometh of the seed of David"
"Christ, Truth, is here today to illumine our thought, to save us from all beliefs of evil"
St. John tells us that Jesus sought with deep sincerity to explain to the people that his teaching was not of himself but was inspired of God. Since Jesus understood his Father to be God, he so taught. Some were ready to acknowledge Jesus as the long awaited Saviour, but others said, "Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?" (John 7:42.)
