"He that sent me is with me"

The false belief that God, man's infinite Father-Mother, exists apart from His creation is rejected in the inspired passages of the Bible and in the teaching of Christian Science. All through the Scriptures is recorded the recognition of the presence of God. Joseph, who was sold into Egypt by his brothers, said to them when he was in charge of the granaries of Egypt, "God did send me before you to preserve life" (Gen. 45:5). And Pharaoh knew Joseph to be "a man in whom the Spirit of God is" (41:38).

To Moses in the wilderness, God said (Ex. 33:14), "My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest." Each individual, to the degree of the spirituality of his thoughts, can be assured that God's presence is with him.

Christ Jesus fully understood man's relationship to God as reflection. He knew where he came from and what his responsibilities were. To the Jews he said (John 8:29), "He that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him."
