Christian Science came into...
Christian Science came into my life when I was living in Paris before the Second World War. I was very ill and despondent, but with the help of a practitioner and a growing understanding and utilization of the power of Truth as taught in Christian Science I was healed.
I also was healed of liver trouble, from which I had suffered since childhood, through the application of Christian Science alone. The comprehension that health is a condition of spiritual consciousness and that man is in reality the very reflection of God, divine Love, restored my health, and from that time on I could eat and drink what I wanted without feeling any pain.
"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust." The truth of these words from the ninety-first Psalm has been proved to me. During the Second World War, I, together with several others, was obliged to get out of a train through the window and to throw myself on the ground when we were caught in a very heavy air raid at a railway station near Paris. All the people were full of fear, and several of them were crying desperately.
