Heaven: Now or Then?
It is generally believed that matter and mind unite in some unexplained way to produce various forms of life, including the life men are living today. As long as human thought is immersed in this materialistic sense of things, people will look upon spiritual life as having to do with then, not now; with there, not here.
Whatever would stress a future life as the desired goal of men would leave the present largely in the hands of speculative hypotheses, which Christian Science reveals are poor substitutes for the Word of God.
However, since the advent of Christian Science, a change is taking place in human thought. This higher scientific theology is vitally concerned with the present and is utilizing spiritual forces and laws to care for present needs.
