Give No Quarter to Matter
[Original in French]
"Because God, Spirit, is All, matter is nothing"
The first Book of Kings relates that Ahab, king of Israel, twice defeated the armies of the king of Syria. Ahab won these victories because he followed the advice of a prophet sent of God, Without this prophet's acuteness, the troops of the king of Israel would undoubtedly have been overwhelmed by superior forces. "The children of Israel pitched before them like two little flocks of kids; but the Syrians filled the country" (20: 27). The king of Syria, being defeated, presented himself to Ahab, and the latter, as a token of reconciliation, caused him to come up into his chariot and spared his life.
