"'Man's extremity is God's opportunity'" is quoted by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, on page 266 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." This familiar passage is surely indicative of my status when Christian Science was presented to me.

For many years I had been searching for a practical religion. Finding none and bitterly discouraged, I turned to many false, material pleasures for compensation. Fifteen years of riotous living began to manifest itself in poor health.

I was suffering from sciatica in its last stages when a friend presented me with a copy of the Sentinel. After an hour's reading I knew my search for a practical religion had been fulfilled. Within six weeks I returned to my work a very happy and healthy person.
