HOW CHRISTIAN SCIENCE HEALS March 29, 1958 Issue

RADIO PROGRAM No. 236 - Disease Is Not Incurable

Speaker: We have an encouraging story to tell today, a story of freedom from disease and restoration to a normal, happy life. Our guest is a woman who lives in Stockholm, Sweden—Miss La Leufvén. We've asked her to tell you exactly what occurred.

Miss Leufvén: I had been in a tuberculosis sanatorium for about six months. My X-ray pictures showed severe consumption. Then a friend wrote to me one day, telling me that I needn't be in bed any longer as I could be healed through Christian Science, because disease is not real. It was furious and answered immediately that I was not the kind of person who wanted to be in bed and also that I had too much medical knowledge not to know the reality of disease.

At that time I didn't believe in God. However, I read some of the articles in the Christian Science literature my friend gave me. But I didn't understand a single word and considered it all pure nonsense. I kept the literature well hidden, as I would have been embarrassed if anybody had thought that I was reading it. I didn't even throw it away in case the maids might see it.
