Many years ago, when my brother needed help for serious eye trouble, Christian Science was brought to our attention. Where doctors had failed, Christian Science succeeded, and my brother gained his complete freedom.

Because of this healing, I became interested in the writings of Mary Baker Eddy. At the time, I was suffering greatly from sick headaches. I received much help from consecrated practitioners and was healed of colds, sore throat, bursitis, and other difficulties, but the headaches continued.

Each day I thought of the opening words in the Preface of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. vii), "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings." After much study I realized that I was free and no longer a slave to pain. For this healing, I am most grateful. I have had many other proofs of God's goodness and have come to understand the words of the Psalmist (Ps. 46:1), "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."
