This opportunity to express my gratitude for Christian Science is a wonderful one. I was brought up in a Christian home, where church work was considered an important activity. But my sincere desire to know God was not satisfied until Christian Science came into my experience.

After I left college to marry, life lay before me without a plan, and I wondered how to go. I mentioned this matter to a friend, who was a student of Christian Science. He recommended that I obtain the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. He explained that he found it very helpful for daily living. I bought a copy and began to read and ponder it. I was thrilled with the ideas I grasped, although much was beyond my comprehension at the time.

During the next few years the tares and wheat must have grown side by side in my thinking. While I read the Christian Science textbook daily, I still turned to materia medica and child psychology for help with my children and attended the church of my youth. Then I experienced a severe disappointment in the nature of a premature birth. This experience proved to be the turning point for me. I decided to rely completely on divine Truth and began studying more earnestly.
