The Christian Science periodicals have been a source of great joy and inspiration to me. It is my gratitude that prompts me to offer this contribution to them.

My introduction to Christian Science came when I was in high school. A friend took me several times to visit her Sunday School and to attend church services. However, after that first acquaintance with Christian Science and until the time came when my thought was prepared to accept its teachings, a period of twenty years elapsed. In the course of these years I drifted almost completely away from the church of my childhood, for I no longer found it satisfying. Since I was somewhat religiously inclined, I felt grieved at this situation, and I turned to other activities for satisfaction.

During this period of wandering in the bypaths of materialism, intellectualism, and fast social living, I often used to say that I would go to church when I lived right. At last the longing for a better life turned me to Christian Science. I found that I did not have to give up anything that was truly good, and I have been enlightened on many issues that had become clouded by false teachings. Christian Science has given me a higher concept of Church and an uplifted faith.
