Some time ago I experienced the healing efficacy of Christian Science during a difficult experience. One afternoon I was stricken with a severe pain in my back. It became very difficult for me to do anything that required bending over in any way. I recalled a statement in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, which reads (pp. 472, 473 ), "We learn in Christian Science that all inharmony (if mortal mind or body is illusion, possessing neither reality nor identity though seeming to be real and identical." I refused to honor as real the physical inharmony and rejoiced in the harmony of being as taught in Christian Science.

Plans had already been made by my wife and me to take our vacation, and in spite of my discomfort we went as planned and enjoyed the entire trip, after which we returned home rested and refreshed. I experienced a great deal of freedom from pain by simply acknowledging that in truth I was already free. When I found myself moving about freely, I felt deep and heartfelt appreciation of Christian Science, which was discovered and founded by Mrs. Eddy.

It is my earnest desire as a student of Christian Science to bear living witness to this statement in Isaiah (50:4 ): "The Lord God hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned."— James Christie Stack, Washington, District of Columbia.

I am grateful to verify the foregoing testimony of my husband and wish at the same time to add my own expression of gratitude for the many healings I have experienced through the study of Christian Science. I shall always be especially grateful for the firm stand taken when, as a small child, I fractured my elbow. Christian Science treatment was relied upon entirely, and the healing was complete in every way. This healing has been a source of comfort and encouragement to me in later years when I have been faced with suggestions of doubt and fear, for it brought into my own experience proof of Mrs. Eddy's statement on page 112 of Science and Health, "Christian Science is demonstrable."—(Mrs.) Elizabeth Helen Stack.
