As one who has benefited in...

As one who has benefited in countless ways through Mrs. Eddy's revelation of Christian Science and through the understanding of God as Father-Mother, I should like to put on record my heartfelt gratitude.

I had the great privilege of attending the Christian Science Sunday School from the age of about four years until I was twenty. Mrs. Eddy tells us in the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 209 ), "Spiritual sense is a conscious, constant capacity to understand God." The training in the Sunday School gave me the "constant capacity" of which our Leader speaks, but my experiences during the years since then have shown me the necessity of gaining the "conscious" capacity, which alone enables us to face mortal mind in its varying forms without fear or response. Now my son attends the Sunday School, and it is a great joy to foster the understanding which he; gains through its teachings and to know that he is receiving the most valuable thing life has to offer.

Some time ago he received a wound on the ankle from a piece of rusty corrugated iron. His ankle showed signs of blood poisoning, though from the start I held to the truth I knew. When the condition grew more angry-looking I asked him if he thought we should engage the help of a Christian Science practitioner. The boy answered, "Oh, but I thought we had all we need here." I knew he was right and was grateful for the reminder. Fear subsided, and in a few days he was free.

We have had many proofs of the ever-presence of divine Love. Since the passing of my husband, my son and I have been cared for in the most beautiful and unexpected ways. We have been quite free from grief, secure in the knowledge that the qualities which so endeared my husband to us can never be lost. His business affairs were entrusted to my care, and many difficulties have been overcome as I have endeavored to remain faithful to Principle.

I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church and for all the activities connected with the Christian Science movement. It is indeed an education to serve on branch church committees and to assist in this great work.—(Mrs.) E. Marion Haworth, Southport, Lancashire, England.
