Very humbly and with the sincere...
Very humbly and with the sincere desire that others may receive help from this testimony, I wish to testify to the healing power of Christian Science.
During my early childhood a severe fright and shock changed me overnight from a happy, carefree child into a very fearful and nervous little girl. There were sudden attacks of overwhelming fear which made me lose almost complete consciousness of my surroundings. These spells gradually diminished, but they always returned when I was in what the doctors called a run-down condition. I worried continually and never knew what it meant to be truly happy.
The last bad period came in my early twenties. Medicines gave no relief. I prayed to God for help, but there was no answer to my prayers, and I ceased to believe there was a God. Then I contemplated suicide. I wanted to die, but was afraid to die. At this point a loved one in my home handed me the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and asked me to read it.
