"THE PURE LANGUAGE OF SPIRIT"

As recorded in the Bible, the eternal, ever-present Christ, Truth, has been revealed in varying degrees throughout all generations to those spiritually-minded enough to perceive its divine nature. It is possible that the Christ appeared to them in accord with Mary Baker Eddy's explanation of that term in the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 332), namely "Christ is the true idea voicing good, the divine message from God to men speaking to the human consciousness." This divine message, uttered in the language of Spirit, God, so permeated their thought that it enabled them to practice its healing power in varying degrees and to spread the enlightenment which the Christ, Truth, inevitably brings.

In Bible history the continued appearing of the Christ to human consciousness culminated in the advent of Jesus of Nazareth. He presented the divine idea of God to such an unprecedented degree that his mission has been generally considered the first appearing of the Christ in that it surpassed all others previous to his time and entitled him to be called Christ Jesus.

The complete revelation of the truth was promised by Christ Jesus, who foretold the coming of the Comforter, which would lead into all truth. In due time the Comforter appeared as the revelation of Divine Science, which Mrs. Eddy discovered through consecrated search of the Scriptures and gave to the world in the Christian Science textbook.
